Tattoo ink is removed by using a specific wavelength of laser light. The light passes through the skin and is absorbed by the ink, causing the tattoo ink to break down. The ink is then absorbed and disposed of by the body. The results are usually excellent for tattoo removal.

Yes, but you must leave adequate time for the area to heal.

Can you take off part of a tattoo and not the whole tattoo?

Can people with darkly pigmented skin have tattoos removed by laser and will it leave skin the “wrong” color?

Yes, tattoos can be removed from skin with dark pigmentation. However, some darker skin types get lighter for a period of time.

Most homemade tattoos can be removed in 2 to 4 treatments. Professionally done tattoos average 6 to 8 treatments.
